About our Puppies

Our breeding program has consistently received the Portuguese Water Dog Outstanding Breeder Achievement Award and was ranked second in the country in 2017. Our goals are to breed dogs that are known for their temperament, structure, drive and loving family members.

Our wonderful and only slightly wicked "Wica" whelped a litter of 9 puppies on Wednesday, August 28th. The father of this litter is Stinger (CH Overlook Lisiji Bee Still My Heart CGC, WWD, OF, AX, AXJ). Stinger is the most teddy bear like dog we have ever owned, always ready for a cuddle. Stinger is a wonderful blend of charming sweetness and enthusiasm. When it's time to work, Stinger wipes off his paws and puts his heart into the tasks in front of him.

Mom Wica is Cove's End Witchy Woman CGC, NA, NAJ she's a true beauty and the kindest and sweetest girl. This is Wica's first litter and she's taking to motherhood with ease. It never fails to amaze me how brilliant their mothering skills are given that they receive no classes and I have yet to find a manual on parenting written in dog.

These puppies have a beautiful pedigree, both parents have their health clearances, wonderful temperaments and enthusiasm to spare. I'm pleased to report that they also have an off button as they are part of our household. Our dogs are family members and puppies are only placed with families that will treat them as we do. Ideal homes are those with an active life style. We will be happy to speak with you about these puppies.

Every puppy we breed is raised in the heart of our home. We are dedicated to giving each puppy the love, attention and experiences that builds confidence for life. Based on the accomplishments of our puppies, Cove's End has consistently received the PWDCA "OUTSTANDING BREEDER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD."

Both parents have all of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America's recommended health testing. PWD's are a working breed and we are pleased to say that both parents have participated and titled in multiple venues. Our dogs participate in conformation, water, agility and train in basic obedience, rally and tracking as well. Most of all, they are loving members of our family.
Our puppies receive the benefit of the Neuroglial Stimulation protocol, are microchipped, examined by a vet, have their first shots, examined by a board-certified ophthalmologist and temperament tested prior to going home. Puppies are raised in the heart of our home with lots of stimulation and interaction.

Our first goal is to place the puppies in loving homes that understand raising a puppy is similar to raising a toddler. Raising a PWD requires a great deal of time and effort. PWDs are active, intelligent and adorable, they do well with children and are eager to please. They do well with active lifestyles.

We are currently interviewing homes for the puppies. If you would like to learn more about the breed and interview to be on our wait list for a puppy, please email or call : or (919) 801 4257. We welcome visitors to meet our dogs.
